Story of the year 2008:))

It`s time to look back to the year 2008. We traveled to a lot of different shows and fields. Our J-puppies took part in unofficial shows and at the end of the year some of them were at Helsinki Winner-08 show too. Two puppy-shows were in Siikajoki and Kajaani and our breeder`s group was BIS and BIS 2 in a very hard competitions. Thank you J-puppies owner`s for showing your dogs in these two competition. Without your help it hadn`t been possible to got these BIS and BIS2 placement. Our Pablo aka Rindi`s Pablo Picasso was the best of our dogs again. He was 6th in TOP ESS of the year 2008. He was 3 x BOB and 2 x group3, 2x BOS, 4 x BD2 and 3 x BD3. Pablo`s puppies got excellent results too: two Fin Champions, one Balt JW-07,Est JW-08,Est & Lt & Lv JCh, Balt JCh, 6 puppies passed the field trial tests and all Pablo`s boys and girls got 28 CC`s. The health results of Pablo`s progeny: 8th of puppies own A-hips, 1 B-hips and 1 C-hips. We hope that more of Pablo`s puppies will be X-raid in the future. Three more litters sired by Pablo were born, to kennel Nelvana in Norway and to kennel Lo`cus in Finland and ours here in Baskethill`s. In Norway the puppies already started their show career in puppy-class with style. Congratulations to Siv and Dag and your Art-puppies, we will keep our fingers cross in the future competitions. Sweet Pihla aka Baskethill`s Irish Blossom got her Fin Champion title in Juni and she was 22nd in TOP ESS of the year 2008. She was 4 x BB2 and 2 x BB3 during her show year. Our new interest with Pihla is agility. Perhaps we will get courage to take part in agility-competitio next year. We both like agility very much. Where was our Saimi aka Baskethill`s Highlandblossom? She took part in the first Int Dog Show in Kajaani in January and she was 4th best bitch. After that she got her last puppies 2 + 6 in March, our Pablo is the proud daddy:)) These puppies are our J-pups and they have started they show carreer already. Now Saimi have two girls near her, Pihla and Aurora aka Baskethill`s Jubilee Blossom to follow in her footsteps. Her I-puppies continue they work with a great way. Iiris aka Baskethill`s Ivory and Ebony got her Tr Champion title very easily and Pihla got Fin Ch title and Penny aka Baskethill`s Isabel Duncan passed her field trial test and continues her obedience carreer by winning her first prize in open class. Thanks a lot to I-puppies owners for such a great work. Also Saimi and Pablo got their Int.Champion Title in April confirm by FCI. Me and Pablo made a trip to Sweden with Tarja, Zeta and Sophie in the beginning of July. The main reason was the World Dog Show in Stockholm on Sunday (6.7.08) and one Show on Saturday in Almare Stäket. Sophie got her S(u) Ch title in World Dog Show, great work Sophie with mum:) The journey was nice as always, thank you Tarja for you nice company again. There were many really nice shows during the year 2008 and part of fun was chatting at the ringside with other dog owners. We have some nice driving journey with Tuija around our country. Tuija is one of the best chatting companions during these long trips, thanks Tuija. Lastly I would like to thank the puppy owners for your company and all the nice things. I wish a succesful show year 2009 to all, especially to our puppies:)) |

Yesterday evening we got very sad news from Paula and Tommi. Our Klaara`s and Kaisla`s dear brother Kevin aka Baskethill`s Golden Griffit has gone over the rainbow bridge. Dear Paula, Tommi, Janne and Jenny, you gave him the best possible home. Thank you for that and very warm hugs to you. |

It is always nice to take part in that show. The winners came from Norway and Sweden as did our judge too. The day was altogether kennel Barecho`s and kennel Winton`s:)), congratulations for your huge success here in Finland. I had Pablo and his daughter Aurora with me and there were also Elli and Julius with their owners. Both junior classes were huge , dogs 13 and bitch 14. Julius aka Baskethill`s Jimmy-The-One got VG in his class and same result got Elli aka Baskethill`s Jolly Jumper and inspite of VG she got a great critique. Our Aurora, Baskethill`s Jubilee Blossom got a nice critique too and she was 4th with excellent. "Excellent size, very elegant. Good balance. Nice head and expression. Good neck and topline. Excellent body, forechest, bone and feet. Excellent angulations, but a bit overdone in the back. Excellent coat. Very sound and typical mover, just need a little more confidence," that was Aurora`s critique by Paul Stanton. Elli`s critique: "Execellent size, elegant, quite good balance. Pretty feminine expression. Narrow underjaw. Exellent bone, feet and body. Good angulations. Front and back movements need to develop. Excellent coat. Sweet temperament." Pablo`s charm didn`t work to our judge, so he got VG and that was all. The show day went by very quickly with chating the other doggy people around the ring. The ess ring ended with rewarding of the best ess of 2008. This year the win of the tough competition went to Terry aka Linmoore Your Majesty. Huge congratulations to Terry`s background persons and thank you Sanna from bubbles:)) Also my warmest hugs and thanks to Tuija for handling our sweet little Aurora so nicely. The journey to Helsinki was really enjoyable and the drive from Helsinki to Muhos went very quickly. Thank you Nina for you nice companion during this weekend. What`s the next trip?:)) Now it`s a Christmas time and next show will be next year:)) Our export girl, Baskethill`s Jewel To You aka Saima, took part in her last puppy show and she did it with style. She was BOB puppy St-Petersburg 6.12.08 and next show for Saimi will be in January. Congratulations to Katya and Saimi, keep up your great work:)) |

I had a very nice trip to Kuopio with Aurora to Tuija`s and Risto`s place. That visit ended my few days leave from work. We travelled to Kuopio on Saturday morning and came back on Sunday afternoon. Just after arriving we took a long walk with Tuija and her mother and our dogs Nukka, Sawanne and Aurora. It was so relaxing and fun, as always, to walk around in such a nice scenery of Savo. After that walking route we got a delicacy dinner, good wine and that all ended in warm sauna. Next morning we took some pics of Juha-Pekka, Tom and the four-legged girls:)) and naturally we took photos of Aurora, almost 9 months now. Thank you again your hospitality and the best possible company to Tuija, Risto, Juha-Pekka and Tom. I hope that Risto manage to get rid of his flu.

We got a great news from our export puppy, Baskethill`s Jewel to You aka Saima. She took part in Dog Show in St-Petersburg, Lenexpo and was a BOB-pyppy in that show. The judge was Natalja Nekrosiene from Lithuania. Saima got a very nice critique from her. Congratulations to you Katya and ofcourse Saima, the main performer. You have done a great work together and thank you Katya from these nice pics.

We had Pablo, Pihla and Aurora with us. Pablo was in a really good show mood and he ran like the wind and showed his best side overall. So he was running untill BOS and Antti`s sweet Pamela was BOB. Congratulations Antti to your great wins with beautifull Pamela, we didn`t need any tricks:)) Our Aurora (Baskethill`s Jubilee Blossom) ended her baby class career and next competition is in the official junior class. Her last puppy class evaluation was great but she didn`t get HP because she needs to get more compact and tighter body. Luckely she is only 8 months and I hopes that time will take care of these problems. Same cause was Pihla`s (Baskethill`s Irish Blossom) upperline and she got VG4 in champon class. The day was really pleasant at the ringside. It was nice to see you all and thank you for your great company during the show. It was fun:)) Here is Pablo`s Adamant`s son:

| On last Sunday, Pihla and I took part in an unofficial agilty
competition here in Muhos. Our first start was in beginners class and we got 5 fault points and she was first in maxi class. Pihla got also extra award for quick development in agility. I`m so proud of her and perhaps we have the courage to take part in an official competition later:) |

Our judge was Marjo Jaakkola and first in the ring were our J-puppies. Best male puppy was Julius (Baskethill`s Jimmy-The-One) and second was Kaapo (Baskethill`s Jin Jack Flash). Both of them got HP and Julius was also BOB-puppy. Then it was the girls`turn: best of them was our Aurora and second was Elli (Baskethill`s Jolly Jumper), 3rd was Anna (Baskethill`s Jet Set Beauty) and all our girl puppies got also HP. In the official class the only one from our team was Pihla (Baskethill`s Irish Blossom) and she was 3rd in champion class with excellent. The day was best for sweet Sawanne (Adamant`s La Dolce Vita) and Tuija. Sawanne was BOB and was nearly among 4 best of groups 7/8. Huge congratulations and big hugs to Tuija and thank you for the thinks I got from you:) And super thanks for helping me to take pics of our J-puppies, especially of Aurora.

| Yesterday there was the Int.Dog Show at Seinäjoki. There was only
Elli aka Baskethill`s Jolly Jumper with Liisa who represented our team, and they did it very well:)) Elli was BOS-puppy and the best puppy was Hightide`s You`re The Top. Congratulations to owner and breeder. And huge hugs to Elli and Liisa for these nice results. We sent big big congratulations for Terry`s great win at Seinäjoki to Sanna and Terry`s other background people:) and good luck to the BIS-competition today:) |

It was Spaniel Club`s main show and it was the last time with springerspaniels in it. Our main show is at Karkku in the beginning of June. Our journey began on Saturday when I drove to Kuopio with Pablo and Aurora. It was so nice to see Tuija, Risto, Juha-Pekka and Tom and as usually we ate a very good supper and went to bed very early for a change:) On Sunday morning our team continued our trip to Hyvinkää with Tuija and Sawanne. On the way I got a message from Siv: Ylva was BOB-puppy and she came BIG3 in Tromso. Huge congratulations to Siv and Dag and Ylva`s ( Nelvana Cool Creation) other owners, it was a marvelous start for show career:) Hyvinkää show started with puppies. Julius took part in the puppy class (7-9 months) and was second with HP. There was 6 bitch puppies and our Aurora was second with HP of the elder puppies. Both youngsters behaved a really well. Next our dogs, Pablo and Iiro, competed in champion class. Iiro wasn`t in the show mood and he didn`t like the atmosphier so he got VG. On the other hand Pablo competed very well; he was 3rd best male. The day was perfect for Antti`s beautiful Pamela, huge congratulations to you Antti and also Pamela`s breeder Tarja. Tarja`s day was althogether unbelieveble so big hugs from Muhos and Pablo sends a frendly pat to his son Wiljami. He is a Finnish champion now. It was so nice day and biggist thans to Tuija from your company on the way and for your guiding to that candle shop....ou what a place it was!

Yesterday our Aurora got very pleasant visitors, her siblings Anna, Elli and Kaapo. First of all I straightened up their coats except Elli because her coat was quite wet after handling by Aurora:) Then we went to the forest and siblings familiarize themselfs with both blod and rabbit tracks. It was nice to see that they were very interested about these forms of tracking. So we will continue to practise for the field trial tests next spring. Ofcourse we took some pics after that the forest trip from 7 months Anna, Elli and Kaapo, they are growing up nicely. It was so nice to see you Liisa, Marjo and Hanna and your youngsters. Today it`s Julius` turn to get his coat groomed. Aurora is waiting for you.........

We had an extremely nice Pyppy-show in Siikajoki. Our J-puppies started their show career with really good results. Julius, Baskethill`s Jimmy-The-One was Bob and won the group 8 and he ended up BIS2 under judge Tuula Pratt. Our breeders group was BIS among many groups, the judge was Jari Laakso. Our Aurora, Baskethill`s Jubilee Blossom, was BOS and second best bitch was Anna, Baskethill`s Jet Set Beauty, with HP and 3rd with Hp was Elli, Baskethill`s Jolly Jumper, 4th was Lara, Baskethill`s Jersey Lily. Thank you all for your nice company at the show and thank you a lot for coming and taking so good care of our J-puppies. Last weekend our export puppy Saima aka Baskethill`s Jewel To You opened her show career (13.9.) and was BOB-puppy in Pushkin. She was playing like her mother in the ring, said Katya:)) Congratulatios to you Katya and Saima. |

| Two of our J-puppies were visiting here on Friday. First of all I
trimmed these two youngsters; Anna (B.Jet Set Beauty) and Kaapo (B.Jin Jack Flash). Ofcourse we took new 6 months pics and then they played and ran with Aurora. It was a quite quickly moving around our garden:) Apples dropped down from the trees and roses got their own handling:) In the evening our Aurora was quite tired from this sibling visit. Thank you Anna and Kaapo, said Aurora and we said that it was so nice to see you Marjo and Hanna.

| We took part in tracking competition, Saimi and I, during last weekend
(7.9.08) in Pyhäntä. Last competition to Saimi was last summer 2007 and then she got first prize in winner class. Now the result was 3rd prize in winner class, birds and elks were too difficult to pass. Congratulations to Pablo`s two sons` owners and breeders for passing field trial test. Adamant`s Take Your Dreams aka Eku got his result 30.8.08 in Kauhava and FanWans Belive My Dad aka Sisu got this nice result from Ruovesi 7.9.08. Well done boys, says daddy Pablo:) |

We had a special guest here on Saturday:)) Tuija came and helped me to take some pics of our little Aurora. She is now 5.5 months old young lady with smiling nose and waving tail and she owns a talent of quick kissing. It was a little bit difficult to get all her four legs on the ground at the same time. We must practice more before she start her show career. Thank you Tuija for helping me to take these new pics of Aurora and it was so nice to see you here.

Aurora got her dearest visitor on Friday, Elli, Baskethill`s Jolly Jumper was here with her owner Liisa. Sisters moved very fast and they were playing and wrestling on grass. It was so nice to see Elli and Liisa here and Aurora waits for your next visit. First from our J-pups, Anna aka Baskethill`s Jet Set Beauty visited at dog show. She took part in unofficial dog show ( Match Show ) and she competed well with her owner Marjo. Anna was best of all blue ribbon winner puppies:)) Huge congratulations to Anna and Marjo!

The weather was really cold and windy and we got some raindrops too. I was so happy that it was the last outside show for us this year:) This sommer was a quite rainy for dogshows. We had Pablo and Pihla with us and they competed nicely. Both of them were 3rd best male / bitch. Iiro aka Baskethill`s Ironside Brave was 3rd in champion class with excellent. The day was Sissi`s and Jeffe`s day. Congratulations and hugs to Marika and Kirsi from all of us and hope we see you both soon, it was so fun again. There were also our future hopes to familiarize themselves with the show world. These two were Elli and Julius from our Saimi`s and Pablo`s J- litter. Pablo`s boys were busy too. Adamant`s Take Your Dream aka Eku was BOB with CC in Vesilahti on Saturday and he was BOS with CC in Saarijärvi on Sunday and BOS with CC was FanWans Balance of Life aka Torsten in Maalahti, judge was Leila Kärkäs. One of boys Wastage`s Always Action aka Wallu took part in field trial test in a very isuccessful way. Congratulations to all these dog`s owners and breeders. Well done:)) |

| Pihla and I opened a new competition chapter. We took part in agility
competition (05.08.08) in unofficial class. First start in first class was very exciting for me and perhaps for Pihla too. We got two faults and the time runs to fast so we got 10.50 fault points. It was really fan and I think that it wasn`t our last start:)) |

Tiina`s and Penni`s result 30.7.08 Tiina and Penni aka Baskethill`s Isabel Duncan took part in obedience competition. They were just so clever and skillful as always to got first prize in open class. It was second time to competed in open class, first time they got 2de prize and now the first one. Tiina you have amazing touch to your bitch Penni and it`s always a pleasure to hear your news. | Our Saimi got visitors and Aurora got siblings to host on Saturday.
Saimi would be horrified if all of her six puppies would be back to home again:) It was a really speedy meeting with six 4,5 months old puppies. Our Aurora lost two of her teeth in these battles:) And ofcourse after trimming and playing we took pics of our guests. It was so nice to see you all: Liisa and Elli, Hilja and Julius, Marjo and Anna, Sanna and Lara and Hanna with Kaapo. |

It was in Ylivieska and it took about one and half our to drive there. The sun was shinning on our way but we got some rainy moments during the show, as so many times in this summer:) But we had a tent with us so we were spared from wet clothes. Thank you Tuija for helping me put up our tent. The day was very nice again and we spent all together under our tent! The results were nice too. Pablo was BOS and Tuija`s beautiful Sawanne took BOB and Group4. Huge congratulations and hugs to Tuija, and thank you for helping me to take some pics from Pablo`s boy Wallu, our Pihla and Iiro. Pablo`s Springdale boy Bebe took part for the very first time to champion class and did it very well. He was 3rd best dog, congratulations to Hanna, your Bebe looked so great! Pablo`s other boy from Wastage`s kennel did very nicely too. He was second in junior class and I`m sure Toni, that when you train a little bit more the results are much more better, your boy looks great too (see photo above).Thank you again for your nice company during this show; Tuija, Kirsi, Mika, Janika, Hilja and Laura, the tent gang! See you again in next shows:)) Today (20.7.) we are spending Pablo`s 4th birthday! It was raining and raining and the ground seemed to be like a big swamp. When we were running around the ring in a best dog competition Kirsi`s shoe was lost in that swamp:)) We all had so much fan because of that missing shoe even our judge was laughing. Although the weather was so terrible we had fun in that show . Thank you Virve for that almost dry place in your tent and thank you Kirsi, Virve and Marika for your nice company. I had Pihla also with me and she showed her best show mood inspite of that weather. It isn`t easy to organize a good show when it has been raining almost 4 weeks:(. I give all my symphatie to dog show`s organizers. |

We (Pablo and I) spent a nice long weekend with Tarja and Zeta and his sister Sophie around Stockholm. We had a bit of a problem to find our hotel outside of Stockholm:)) My Tomtom didn`t show us the right way and we drove here and there around little villages but after 3 hours we finally found our hotel. Ít was my fault, I wasn`t trained to use my new Tomtom and after Sanna`s (thank you:)) lesson perhaps I´ll learn to use that useful machine in the future. The journey was memorable again, thank you Tarja for your nice company around this Swedish tournee. Perhaps we will do it again next summer:)) First show was at Almare Stäket near by our hotel. There was over 120 ess entries and the weather was perfect for a dog show. Pablo took part in open class and there was 19 ess dogs. He got VG, too heavy for the judge. The day was Zeta`s, Adamant`s Lucky Strike. He got CC and was beaten by only the champion dog, who was BOS. After that show we took part in English Springer Spaniel Symposium. There were almost 40 participants from all over the world. It was interesting to hear all kinds of lectures, especially the lecture from eye diseases. But then we had to hurry to wash our dogs for next show.

Our Klaara was 2nd in veteran class with excellent. Iiro, Baskethill`s Ironside Brave was 4th best dog today. Pablo`s youngsters did very well. His daughter Adamant`s Take This Dance aka Lady was BOS and got CC and also Adamant`s Take Your Dream got CC and was 3rd best dog. Congratulations to all of you and it was a very nice to chat at the rinside before and after the show. We got a nice news from tracking competition..........our new tracknose is Baskethill`s Izzy Kidding aka Peppi. She got first prize in tracking competition in open class. It was first start for Marja and Peppi, well done! Huge congratulations to both of you:))

The sunniest day was Kirsi`s day, you won it all, so congratulations to you and thank you for your beautifull words on Pihla`s champion title:))

Weekend 7. - 8.6.08
While we were working in our garden some good things happened
in showrings and obediece
field. On Saturday there was a group show in Raahe and judge was
Markku Santamäki. The entry was
5 ESS and BOB was Jefferson De Los Tres Robles "Jeffe" and BOS was
Kirsi`s sweet Melly Bogaloo`s
Wait Until Dark who got her last CC and she is Fin Ch now.
Congratulations to Kirsti of these very
good results. Iiro aka Baskethill`s Ironside Brave was 2nd best
male and 3rd was Pablo`s son Bebe,
Springdale Silver Star. He got his last CC and finished his title.
Huge congratulations to Hanna and
Aatu, Bebe`s owner and also to Laura, Iiros owner. On Saturday Penni,
Baskethill`s Isabel Duncan
took part in obedience competition in open class and got 3rd prize
131 points.
On Sunday there was a group show in Joutseno and judge was
Rita Kadike-Skadina. Pablo`s
Wastage`s puppies started they official show caree with style. Wastage`s
Always Action "Wallu"
was 2nd best male and got his first CC:)), his brother
Wastage`s Action Man "Patu" was 3rd
best male and got resCC. Also female puppy Wastage`s Almos Perfect "Selma"was
second best bitch
and got resCC. Huge congratulations to breeder Katja and
puppies`owners for this nice start to shows:))
But busiest of all was our talented couple Tiina and Penni.
After obedience competition they drove
directly to Ruovesi and took part in a field trial test and they
did it:)) Now from our I-puppies 6 from
7 past they field trial tests.Thank you to all of you I-puppies` owners,
you have done a great job with
you dogs.

| Yesterday our H-puppies celebrated their 6th birthday. Saimi
and Saga sends warm congratulations to all of their siblings and they hope that you got a big and delicacy sausage cake as we got:))
Today Saimi took her girls Elli and Aurora ( 11 weeks ) with us for their first swimming
lesson.

| We were at Rovaniemi on Saturday and took part in a group show. The
entry was 18 English Springer Spaniel and judge was Leila Kärkäs. Only two males got Excelent so there wasn`t BOS at all. Pablo aka Rindi`s Pablo Picasso was BOB and also Group3 and young Wildomar`s Discovered Plot was second best male and got CC. Congratulations to Dixi`s owner and also to breeder Sanna:)) When Pablo enjoy the dog show atmosphere his latest puppies were born in Norway. It was quit hard work for Wilma: 7 puppies and almost all of them weighed around 500 grams. More information from kennel Nelvana`s page here.

The dog Show in Joensuu was two different shows: on Saturday it was All Breed Dog Show and on Sunday it was Int.Dog Show. It was a super weekend for Antti and his sweet Pamela. She was BOB on both days and on Saturday she finnished her Fin Ch title. Congratulations to Antti and thank you for sharing your tent with Tuija and me. And of course congratulations to Pamela`s breeder Tarja for that new sweet champion. Tuija`s Sawanne was 3rd best bitch and Pablo was second best dog again. The weather wasn`t very summer like: it was raining all kinds of drops and it was cold wind too.....hrrr...so cold. Pablo`s puppies from Wastege kennel competed well. Wastage`s All-Time Wish aka Mimmi was BOB on both days and her brother Wallu aka Wastage`s Always Action was BOS during these two days. They look so nice and we wish you luck to official classes. Warm congratulations to breeder Katja and all owners of these Wastage puppies. It was so nice to see you.

| Our J-puppies are 8 weeks tomorrow and they are ready to move to their new homes. Baskethill`s Jin Jack Flash aka Kaapo moved yesterday to Rovaniemi with Hanna. Good luck to both of you and we will see at shows and all kinds of activities a little bit later. Now all puppies have they papers and names and thank you Aila for such nice J-names, you invented most of them. So I can say that she is a Godmother to our pups:) |

There were a quite a lot of entries on that show. The rings were quite small :)) The best of our team was Saimi and she took 4th best bitch. Pihla was 3rd in working class with excellent. And there were also Pihla`s sisters Iiris and Penni. Iirs competed the same class as Pihla and got VG and Penni was in open class and got G. Our boys then....Pablo was second in champion class just after Jeffe. There was also Severi, Saimi`s brother, he got G in open class. It was so nice to see them after such a long time. It was Sawanne`s day, she got her last CC and first Cacib.
