NEWS 2006

 

Year 2006 was certainly Pablo`s (Fin & N Ch, EUW-06 Rindi`s Pablo Picasso)  he got Bos
placement at Vaasa 29.4.06 just after our Saimi. He got EUW-06 title  in 9.6.06 at Helsinki
and by half year he got 6 Cacib in his credit. A week after  Pablo`s 2-year birthday we spent
a weekend at Kuopio in 3 different dog shows and it was the other highlight of the summer.
There he became Fin Ch and he was BOB and BOS and got 2 Cacib. During 2006 he got 4 BOB,
5 BOS and 1 Group2 placement in his credit and N Ch title too.  Pablo was also 5th TOP ESS
in the year 2006.

He has offspring in kennel`s Springdale, Full Flavour and latest at Adamant`s (Here is photo
below took by Tarja Hovila). The next puppies of Pablo will come to Alfalex in the end of January.

Our Saimi ( Fin Ch Baskethill`s Highlandblossom ) also had  a very good year. She was BOB and
Group4 at Vaasa 29.4.06 and she was BOS at Rovaniemi Midsummer Int.Dog Show and got her
3rd Cacib. Saimi was at Kuopio too and she was second best bitch just after Int.Ch Adamant`s
Dreams Are Free ( Frida ) and so she got her 4th cacib with her credit. Three times she was BOB
and two times BOS. She had also many best bitch placements and she was 7th TOP ESS in 2006.
So, what did Saimi`s first puppies.....

Our little sweet Pihla ( Baskethill`s Irish Blossom) was a very busy in last summer. She got 5 CC,
2 resCC, BOS and 5 times BB2. She was also at Kuopio and did same result than her mother Saimi.
She was BB2 after Frida but she was too young to get Cacib. Pihla passed her fieldtrial test at Rovaniemi.
Not bad result such a young girl. Even Pihla was placed in TOP ESS list, 21st.

Thank you all our puppy owners -  without you these results weren`t possible and thanks a lot for

19.12.06 Oona  In Memoriam

Yesterday evening we got a very sad news from Tuija and Risto. Oona aka Baskethill`s Divine Duchess went to the rainbowbridge in the late afternoon 18.12.06  in a very hight age 15 and 1 months over. Tuija and I just talked about Oona and how she came to them just 15 years ago around a Christmas. She was a big person herself and she took all changes with a great calmness. She didn`t say anything about Sumu-Vilma`s 10 puppies whose draw from her ears or when the lates addition Sawanne took her place in their family. And I must say that Sawanne is a quite quickly little girl. Oona loved to be with Tuija`s and Risto`s boys Juha-Pekka and Tom by her own way. In the picture above you saw that Oona was Juha-Pekka`s favourite GIRL! One period has gone: our D-puppies and Tuija`s first lady. Sleep well Duchess.............

It was so nice to see many friends there and spend time to look at all the nice dogs around us. It was a really good day for Tarja and you couldn`t have ended the show in the better way. I send  big big hugs for such  nice results and those Winner-titles even little Sofie try to beat Frida, but not yet.:)))) Our results weren`t so remarkable. Pablo was 4th with excelent in champion class and so was Saimi. Our young man Iiro slipped in the showring and he limped his left rearleg, so the judge couldn`t judge him. But the day gone truly quickly and we had to leave because of the long drive  home.

Muhos 05.12.05

Here I go, sorry the photo was taken about four weeks ago but it`s such a suitable  at this moment: my hips were x-rayed ( Pihla aka Baskethill`s Irish Blossom ) and result was A-A. So was Inka`s aka Baskethill`s Imperial Begum, my sister you know, best possible A-A and her eyes are ok too. My housekeeper is very proud of us. All my 3 sisters (Peppi, Iiris, Inka) and 1 brother Iiro have been checked and all have A-A hips, that is something, I think!;)) Thank you all for having your hipchecked. Good Independence Day to all of you..........

Kaislastenlahti 03.12.06

We spent ( Pihla and I ) a very nice weekend with Tuija , Risto, Juha-Pekka and Tom and dog-girls Oona, Nukka and Sawanne. The weather was splended, on Saturday, the sun was shinning very low but it was there and on Sunday the weather was still  reasonable. We took a long walk around an island nearby Tuija on both days. There was a lot of water in ditches and Pihla loves to swim in those. It was so much fun in these two days and thanks a lot of your nice company Tuija and Risto.

Today (21.11.06) we got a very nice hip result from Iiro aka
Baskethill`s Ironside Brave; A-A. He was 3rd puppy with
A-A hips from Saimi`s and Moses` puppies.;))
 

Ristijärvi 18.11.06

We got a very nice news from Ulla and Marja. Baskethill`s Izzy Kiding aka Peppi and Baskethill`s Ivory And Ebony aka Iiris were x-rayed and results were a best possible hips A-A. Our I-puppies are 16 months now and next x-rayed results comes from Iiro and Pihla. The judge liked her very much but he couldn`t judge her movment and gave her G-critique. The youngsters.......aagh....what shall I do with her..:((( Congratulations to Tarja and Sophie - your Group 4 was unbelievable result from such a young girl as Sohvi is!

Dog Show with Pablo and Saimi. It was Pablo`s day again and he gained N Ch title to his merits. Saimi behaved as always and was 3rd best bitch. It´s a very long journey to Tromso and the weather was just like in winter. There was a lot of snow and the nature looked like around Christmas - just like in a postcard. We didn`t got pics from bob and bos in our breed and the Welshies had the same problem so we , Mariann and I, thought of a little  bit different BOB and BOS photo. Thanks Mariann, we had a good laughs:)) And our judge took part in our celebration. Thanks to Jossu, Hanna and Anne for your nice companionship in our tour....

Our D-litter was born exactly fifteen years ago( 11.10.2006 ). It`s Oona who celebrates her 15th birthday with family and I know she is eating a sausagecake and shares it with Nukka and Sawanne. Oona aka Baskethill`s Divine Dutchess   seems to be in a very good conditions for her age. Congratulations to all of you at Upgates and thank you all of you for taking  good care of Oona, it`s time to celebrate.;)))

Our little girls presented themselves very well too. Pihla won juniorclass with VG1 and Peppi was 3rd. Iiro got his second CC and our breeding group was BOB.

First  reason was the  really hot  weather and our dogs results  also made us feel good.  And it`s always pleasure to informe this kind of news to Pablo`s breeder  Ulla-Britta in Gotland and now it is  time  to say thank you for letting us have Pablo. We will remember his Sawo Show weekend for long .  First day best dog 2 and CC and he finished his Fin Ch title. On Saturday  he was BOB and got his second cacib and on Sunday he was BOS and  got another cacib of  this weekend. Unbelievable days........and also girls  had  very nice days. Pihla got her 5th CC on Sunday and earlier Saimi got her 4th Cacib on Saturday.  On top of  nice results and good weather the company was exellent and  time flying fast. So I send warm thanks to Tuija, Tarja, Sanna, Veera, Antti, Ulla and Tiina, it was really pleasure to keep camp with you. Lastly  my thanks go to Tuija and Risto and they hospitality. Last weekend we were at Keminmaa with Saimi`s and Moses`s puppies. Naturally Saimi and Pablo was with us. First was Iiro`s aka Baskethill`s  Ironside Brave`s in juniorclass and he got VG2. Saimi`s girls took part  in juniorclass. First was our Pihla, second was Peppi aka Baskethill`s Izzy  Kidding and third was Inka, our guest, aka Baskethill`s Imperial Begum.  It was a lucky day for Heli and our neighbours from Sweden. Congratulations to both BOS and BOB owners:)) Next day our Pihla showed  forest and swimming place to her sister Inka. We hope that Aila and Inka enjoyed to visit us and come back perhaps next summer.

She got her 3rd cacib and finally was BOS. Pablo was 3rd best  male and I`m very proud of him. He enjoyed  the show atmosphier in  the  footballhall.Our youngsters did also very well. Iiro aka Baskethill`s  Ironside Brave showed his best side and got EXC1 handled by his young  owner Laura. You did it well Laura! And next was our Pihla`s aka  Baskethill`s Irish Blossom`s turn. There was 5 juniorbitch and Pihla won them  with EXC1. Penni aka Baskethill`s Isabella Duncan got VG. Lastly I send   warm congratulations to Susanne and AnnSofie, you had an exellent day:))

This is Pihla`s first birthday and she send a very warm congratulations to her sisters Iiris, Inka, Peppi, Penni and her brothers Iiro and  Joonas.We are almost adults:)) I think that my sausage cake is ready  to eat. Enjoy this day my sisters and brothers...............

Sadly we must announce that our old man Int & Fin Ch Shipden Ketelby aka Moss has crossed the rainbowbridge at the age of 14. Thank yoy Carolyn and Colin Muirhead for sending us this wonderfull boy. We are missing him very much.

EUW-06 Rindi`s Pablo Picasso Last Friday we were in Helsinki at European Winner 2006. The judge was breed specialist Sven Lövenkjaer from Denmark. The competition was a bit different than usually with only BOB chosen. She didn`t show her best side and got G because her behaviour. Saimi took VG in champion class. So after that wonderful showday, we went to Tampere in Saturday and there was Spaniel club Show (II). Judge was Beata Petkevica from  Latvia,ess 36.The day was very sunny and it was nice to spend it with other springerbreeders. The place was perfekt for the show. Pihla was the second  best bitch just after her mother and got her 4th CC. Saimi got her 9th BOB  and she was celebrated her 4th birthday in this way. She didn`t get placed  by Marianne Holm-Hansen at group 8. Pihla`s sister and brother  weren`t so lucky. Both of them got good. And Pihla`s sister, Inka aka Baskethill`s Imperial Begum, in southern part of Finland got VG3 at  Lohja, judged by Paula Rekiranta. Unfortunately Inka wasn`t in her best  showmood, because her false pregnancy.

The weather was a little bit rainy but the results was warming up! After her swimming lessons Pihla went to the bath  and next day she was ready to show her self with a very good style  and mood by beating her mother, Saimi, - the youngsters took all, so  congartulations to you Marianne and your  "Mörri", youngster too.

It`s a summertime now in Muhos and Pihla was the first to open the swimming season in the back yard`s pond. She went and swam with  ease and brought a gamestick to me, good girl just like her mother!

The lucky one  was Iiro aka Baskethill`s Ironside Brave, he won his class with Exc. Pablo aka Rindi`s Pablo Picasso was second with Exc in intermediate class.  It was surprising to see Severi aka Baskethill`s Heart Breaker after a long  time. He got EXC in open class and he looks very nice. It has been such a long time since Otto took part  in dog shows and it was nice to see him in a such a  good condition. The credit for this goes to Sari. Otto aka Mistily`s Highlander was second best male, not bad............ What did girls do then:  Pihla aka Baskethill`s Irish Blossom was second with Exc, Peppi aka  Baskethill`s Izzy Kidding, Iiris aka Baskethill`s Ivory and Ebony got  also EXC in same juniorclass and  Penni aka Baskethill`s Isabel Duncan got VG. Mother Saimi was 3rd best bitch. We showed our breeding  group and it was BOB. Hi! Yesterday I got a big trophy. It was given to the best show dog of 2005 in our Kennel district and I won it !!!!  BR Saimi aka Baskethill`s Highlandblossom

Today (19.2.06) is my birthday. I`m 12 years pensioner now and a proud grandma to my girls. Our youngest member Pihla (Saimi`s  daughter) opened her show career just yesterday - I enjoyed to see  how she managed  that.

BOS puppy Baskethill`s Irish Blossom and BOB Baskethill`s  Ironside Brave We visited Tuija and Risto in Kuopio in this weekend. We met Tuija`s little princess Sawanne. She was Pihla`s and Pablo`s favorite. On Saturday we went to group show in Tuusniemi. It was the first show for Iiris, Iiro, Peppi, Penni and Pihla. The results  are above. After the show, we took a few pictures of Saimi`s puppies.  Thank you Tuija  - you made these pics come true!!!

I`m just sitting and thinking about yesterday. I was  rewarded  as  the best english springer spaniel of 2005 in our Spanielclub and also  I was the best show dog in our club. Saimi aka Baskethill`s  Highlandblossom wish congratulations to the other rewarded  members with they dogs.
